Sanitary, stain resistant and easy-to-clean with excellent chemical and heat resistance, MMA systems allow fast overnight installation.
Restaurant kitchens need a clean, durable, floor that’s easy to maintain and can withstand heat, harsh cleaning, dropped objects and abrasive wear. And it must be installed quickly, with as little downtime as possible. Fortunately, modern floor chemistry is up to this challenge and PermaFloor has the reliable crews to make it happen fast.
To begin, careful consideration and specification of materials suitable for your specific environment is essential to creating a long-lasting floor. Generally speaking, urethane and methyl methacrylate (MMA) are the products of choice. However, there are many subtle variations to these formulations that can make a big difference to the ultimate durability of your floor. PermaFloor’s vast experience and network of suppliers give you access to a diverse range of solutions. We will work with you to propose a seamless flooring formulation that best fits your unique requirements. When it comes time for installation, our experienced and efficient crews will accommodate your schedule to minimize or eliminate any downtime to your operation.
When properly specified and installed, seamless floors offer restaurant kitchens some amazing performance:
Our MMA seamless flooring formulations deliver super-fast 1-hour curing that, in many instances, allows overnight installations ready for business that morning. These products will also cure at low temperatures, so they can be used in freezers or refrigerated areas. Our urethane formulations are fast curing as well, typically 4 to 6 hours, and offer a higher tolerance to thermal shock, impact and chemicals for heavy-duty applications.
Seamless floors are ideal for maintaining a sanitary environment. Unlike tile, seamless floors do not have cracks or grout lines where harmful dirt, bacteria, viruses, mold and fungi can collect. Non-porous formulations are stain resistant and impervious to water, which makes them easier to clean. Tough resistance to abrasion and impact damage also prevents the formation of scratches and pinholes where dirt and water infiltration under the seal may cause unsanitary de-lamination and bubbling damage.
What really distinguishes our restaurant kitchen formulations is their ability to tolerate heat and thermal shocks–such as hot liquid spills–without deteriorating. Our special formulations will withstand up to 200°F continuous exposure and intermittent spills up to 250°F.
Chemical resistant properties enable these floor formulations to withstand harsh cleaning agents as well as exposure to cooking oils, animal fats, salts, acids and alkalies commonly found in restaurant kitchen and food prep areas. This prevents premature deterioration and failure of the floor surface.
Slip resistant texture for safety purposes can also be incorporated into these formulations, though it should be noted that cleaning could become difficult as more texture is added.
